Run Canonbury Run 2020
Run Kids Run is a social impact initiative to get kids and their parents fit, bring communities together and raise vital funds for schools. It started in 2018 at Thornhill Primary School and now includes schools from across Islington. The challenge is to complete a sponsored run, skip, walk or roll of 2km.
This year, for the first time, Canonbury is taking part. That means you! The event will be held virtually. You can complete the run wherever and whenever you like on Saturday 27 or Sunday 28 June 2020.
We will be running to raise money for our school charity, the Canonbury School Foundation. By telling family and friends about your run and asking them to sponsor you, you will be able to help us to hit our target of raising £2,000. Run Kids Run will match fund everything that we raise (up to at least £2,000). That means that every £1 you raise will be doubled! The class that has the most runners taking part will be awarded a trophy and have their photo up in the sports noticeboard hall of fame.
Set up your sponsorship page
Just go to our Virgin Money Giving page, click on the Start fundraising button and enter a parent or carer’s email address to set up your own sponsorship page. Adults who intend to run don’t need a sponsorship page.
Charm your sponsors
Send the link to your sponsorship page to all your family, friends and neighbours that might be able to help. Explain what you are going to do and why and ask them if they can help.
Our very own Karl will provide training trips on ClassDojo, so there’s no excuse for not getting going!
Most importantly… do your 2k run, walk or skip!
You can complete your run anywhere and anytime over that weekend and simply upload a photo to ClassDojo showing your triumphant finish!
You can run the 2k in any park, or even at home on the spot (if you can download a step counter app on a phone):
